Hua Hin has long been one of the most famous and charming seaside resort towns to stay during holidays in Thailand. A vibrant beachfront with white sand and clear water attracts people from all over the world to visit this lovely city. You’ll find plenty of things to do during your stay in Hua Hin.


Chai Had Hua Hin (Hua Hin beach)

10-kilometre Hua Hin beach lies on the North-South shoreline of the city. Several accesses to the beach have been hidden in the plain sight due to seaside houses built close to the shore in the past. From the map below, you can see that there are numerous ways to get to Hua Hin beach.

Soi 19: this area is called Hua Hin Queen’s park (สวนหลวงราชินี 19 ไร่)

Soi 51: this soi is located on Naeb KeHad (แนบเคหาสน์) Road. There are several beach accesses in this Soi

Soi 61: Soi 61 or Damnernkasem Road is well-known among tourists. Centara Hua Hin hotel is located on the nearby beach access.

Soi 85: the locals call this soi as Soi Kok Moo (ซอยคอกหมู)

Soi Takiab 1: located next to Seven-Eleven

TaKiab Bay community: This area is recommended. You can access to the beach from every soi in this area. Several of them also lead to Hua Hin beach

Khao Hin Lek Fai (Hin Lek Fai Hill)

You can park your car at a car park which is just a short walk from the easy-to-reach viewpoints for spectacular views in all various directions of Hua Hin city from the hilltop. This is another must-see place of Hua Hin.

Getting there: By car: Head to Soi 70. Cross the railway unitl you pass the roundabout then continue to the Hin Lek Fai Hill  Google Maps
Best time to visit: Early morning from 6-7 am is the best time to see the fabulous view from the hill. If it is too early, visiting Hin Lek Fai Hill on other times of the day still provides the stunning views of the glorious Hua Hin.


Wat Khao Noi (Khao Noi Temple)

Khao Noi temple is another peaceful getaway place to relax and enjoy the scenic views of Hua Hin. You can also make a merit at the temple where the visitors usually delight in visiting the Sivali Buddha statue.

Getting there : Head to Soi Hua Hin 58. Cross the railway then continue for around 500-600 metres. The temple is located on the right hand side. Google Maps

Sapanpla Hua Hin (Hua Hin fishing pier)

Sapanpla Hua Hin has long been an important part of Hua Hin history and community. A new pier for fishing industry has been built nearby while the original Sapanpla has now been developed as an esplanade. This is a recommended place to watch the sunrise in Hua Hin.

Getting there: By car: From Petchkasem Road, head to the end of Soi 55, Google Maps

Best time to visit: Early morning before the sunrise or late in the evening before the sun set


Wat Khao Krai Las (Khao Krai Las temple)

From the temple, you can see the fabulous view of Khao Takiab from above and enjoy a big reclining Buddha statue. Apart from visiting the temple, exploring nearby Krai Las Ni Wes mangrove forest is another activity you must do in Hua Hin. Moreover, this area is also the starting point of the annual Hua Hin Marathon. For the marathon participants, be sure to stroll around this area and take some photos from this scenic spot.

Getting there : By car: Head to Khao Takiab until you get to the police booth located near the end of the Road. Make a U-turn to get to the temple
Best time to visit : Early in the morning or in the evening


Chai Had Hua Don Beach (Hua Don beach)

Down the other side of Khao Takiab lies Chai Had Hua Don, a famous beach for photo spot, especially for the pre-wedding photoshoot. Hua Hin Marathon course also runs through this beach. Chai Had Hua Don beach is not far from Suan Son Pra di pat garden and Suan Son (Sea Pine) golf club which is the first seaside gold club of Hua Hin. A short walk from the beach will bring you to the garden and the golf club.

Getting there : By car: Head to Khao Takiab community until you get to the police booth. Continue then turn into Soi Ao Takiab 1, 3 or 5, Google Maps

Wat Khao Takiab temple (Khao Takiab Temple)

It is worth to climb up 128 steps to the Wat Khao Takiab to visit the big buddha statue, Guan Yin Shrine and a stunning view over the sea. Monkeys roaming around is a common sight in this area as well.

Getting there : By car: Head to Khao Takiab community. the entrance is near the police booth intersection,  Google Maps
Best time to visit : All day


Suan Son Pra di Pat (Sea Pine Garden)

It takes a short walk from Chai Had Hua Don beach to Suan Son Pra Di Pat Garden. By driving along the southern route of Petchkasem Road, the garden is located on the left hand side. Several affordable restaurants, a gold club and a hotel can be found nearby. The beach shop rents everything you need for a day on the beach from mats, loungers, hammocks, and small tables and chairs. With tropical sea pines lining the shore, you can enjoy a relaxing time in the shade all day.

Getting there : By car: Drive along Pran Bu Ri-Hua Hin road. Continue and turn right before getting on the road to Khao Ta Kiab, the entrance is on the opposite of Rachapakdi National Park, Google Maps

Ang Keb Nam Khao Tao (Khao Tao Reservior)

The late King Rama 9 initiated the idea to build a reservoir for Khao Tao community consumption where freshwater scarcity was once an issue. The construction of Khao Tao reservoir was completed in 1963. As a result of the royal initiative on water management, it has provided freshwater supply to the community and has mitigated the problem since then. Surrounded by water, a pavilion in the reservoir was recently built to celebrate the late King’s birthday. Besides, Konom Krok dessert from Khao Tao community is also famous for its unique taste. There are also many lovely cafés and restaurants nearby.

Getting there : By car: Drive along Pran Bu Ri-Hua Hin road. Turn right to drive over the bridge in front of the road to Khao Ta Kiab. Continue to Soi Hua Hin 101 to get to Khao Tao Reservior, Google Maps

Wana Udtayan Pranburi (Pranburi Forest Park)

The fertile Wana Udtayan Pranburi forest park is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the nature. The mangrove rehabilitation centre in the park has a walking trail comprised of a 1-kilometre long wooden walkway leading you around the forest. There are benches and tables by the water. There are also boat taxis that you can get to take you around the forest to discover the habitat of wildlife, especially the mudskipper fish crawling in the mud, and explore the mangrove forest ecosystem.

Getting there : By car: Turn right before getting on the road to Khao Ta Kiab. Continue for around 2 kilometres further from Soi Hua Hin 101,  Google Maps
